Fish Camp is just outside Yosemite National Park's southern entrance surrounded by Sierra National Forest - located at 5,000 ft. elevation -- which means cool summer mornings and evenings and lovely daytime temps. 
10 miles south is Bass Lake -- with fishing, boating, swimming - 
2 miles from horseback riding, and short hikes to waterfalls, etc. 
2 miles from South Gate of Yosemite 
3+ miles to Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias (largest trees in the world!) 
12 miles south is Oakhurst - shops, grocery stores, antique shops, art galleries 
6 miles to Yosemite's village of Wawona - horseback riding, stagecoach rides, golfing, dining, pioneer history center
